Scrapbooking
Some of you are well aware that I like taking pictures.  I also like to look at them a lot. And what a nicer way to remember those important moments than keeping them in photo albums or scrapbooks.  You don't really have to be crafty to make a scrapbook.  Scrapbooking kits are in stores now.  Or you can buy the items separately.  All you need are a scrapbook and/or magnetic photo album, shape templates, paper edger, glue and acid-free decorated papers which are available in a wide variety of themes.  Some of these include:  baby, wedding, birthdays, school days, and many more.
Here are some helpful tips.  Before you actually start cutting photos or paper, plan on how you would like to arrange the photos in your scrapbook.  You can arrange them either chronologically, by theme, by event, or whatever pattern you have in mind.  Crop photos to eliminate unwanted background and bring focus to the important part of the photo.  You may want to make coloured copies or photo reprints and save the original.
Here's my personal tip.  If you're scrapbooking a special event, like a birthday party of your child, you may want to use the greeting cards to frame you pictures in the scrapbook.  We receive a lot of birthday cards, especially if it was a big party.  Some of these cards are too pretty to throw away or to just keep in the closet.  You can just use your imagination, as I have, on how to decorate your scrapbook.  You can see what I have done with some of my photos on this page.
More photo tips.  Photos are great remembrances to pass down to our children.  That's why it's a good idea to write down on the back of your photos the date and place where it was taken and the names of the people who are in it.  So even though you are long gone (you know what I mean), your children will remember the name of this cousin, or that aunt.
